Our apprenticeships – your chance

As an apprentice in the commercial, IT or electrotechnical fields, you will get to know interesting production and business areas. Our in-house training workshop gives you the opportunity to try out theoretical content in practice.

As an electronics technician for devices and systems (m/f/d), everything revolves around the testing and application of electronic assemblies. You manufacture components, ensure their commissioning and maintain them.

Your areas of application are diverse. For example, you work with microcontroller systems, system components, sensors or measuring and testing devices.

After completing your training as an electronics technician for devices and systems (m/f/d), we offer you a wide range of job opportunities at Scheidt & Bachmann. Typical areas of activity are, for example, PCB production and testing, electrical fixture construction, the production area, quality assurance or service. So you see: The world of electronic devices at Scheidt & Bachmann is large and incredibly varied.

Characteristics of your training:

  • Training duration: 3.5 years (can be shortened to 3 years)
  • Prerequisite: Advanced technical school-leaving certificate
  • Vocational school: Rheydt Mülfort Vocational College for Technology

As an IT specialist for system integration (m/f/d), you focus on the planning, configuration and maintenance of IT systems. You analyse the requirements of internal and external customers, plan and maintain systems and network structures or install hardware and software. Due to the constantly growing demands on IT security, you are involved in both the implementation and planning of security mechanisms.

In the course of your training with us, you will work in all internal IT teams, which are divided into the following areas: In your 2nd year of your apprenticeship, you will visit our business units Signalling Systems, Parking Solutions, Fare Collection Systems and Fuel Retail Solutions. This gives you the opportunity to get to know different options for your future place of work.

Characteristics of your training:

  • Training duration: 3 years (can be shortened to 2.5 years)
  • Prerequisite: General university entrance qualification / advanced technical college entrance qualification
  • Vocational school: Uerdingen vocational college
  • Responsible Chamber of Industry and Commerce: Mittlerer Niederrhein 

During your training as an industrial clerk (m/f/d), you will gain extensive knowledge about planning, implementation and control in areas such as purchasing, logistics, human resources, sales or finance and accounting. You get to know different departments and are actively involved in the respective work processes. At the same time, you will network optimally within our company.

In our on-site factory classes, you will deepen the contents of the vocational school and receive intensive English lessons from native speakers. Extensive presentation training prepares you optimally for your practical final examination.

Characteristics of your training:

  • Duration of training: 3 years (can be shortened to 2.5 years with a higher education entrance qualification)
  • Prerequisite: General university entrance qualification/entrance qualification for studies at universities of applied sciences
  • Vocational school: Rheydt Mülfort Vocational College for Business and Administration
  • Responsible Chamber of Industry and Commerce: Mittlerer Niederrhein

Training as an industrial mechanic (m/f/d) specialising in fine equipment construction is the right thing for you if you have manual skills, are fit in maths, physics and English and are interested in technical and physical processes.

As an industrial mechanic (m/f/d), you will set up and maintain machines. You will also assemble components and assemblies, set up pneumatic circuits and test them. Manual and mechanical machining, cutting, joining and forming are also part of your tasks, as is the creation of programmes for numerically controlled machines.

During your training, you will work in various areas. You will work in our training workshop as well as in production. You will also get to know the areas of development and quality assurance.

Characteristics of your training:

  • Training duration: 3.5 years
  • Prerequisite: Advanced technical college entrance qualification, advanced technical college entrance qualification or general higher education entrance qualification
  • Vocational school: Rheydt Mülfort Vocational College for Technology
  • Responsible Chamber of Industry and Commerce: Mittlerer Niederrhein

Dual study programmes – academic content and practical relevance

During your dual study programme, theory and practice phases alternate and are optimally linked with each other. You benefit from this in several ways: In addition to a Bachelor's degree, you also acquire a Chamber of Industry and Commerce certificate. You are professionally and practically fit in every respect and have already built up a good network in the company – the ideal start to a successful future together.

In the electrical engineering course, you will gain extensive specialist knowledge ranging from the basics of mathematics, physics and electrical engineering to communication and microcontroller technology.

You will spend your practical days in the Scheidt & Bachmann training workshop. There, the contents of the training as an electronics technician for devices and systems are on the training plan (see above).

Features of your dual study programme in electrical engineering:

  • KIA (cooperative engineer training) model in cooperation with Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences, Department of Electrical Engineering
  • Prerequisite: General university entrance qualification/entrance qualification for studies at universities of applied sciences
  • Start: winter semester
  • Duration: 8 semesters
    • First 4 semesters: Training at Scheidt & Bachmann and courses at the university in alternation (2 or 3 days each)
    • From 5th semester: Full-time study
    • After 4 semesters: Final examination as an electronics technician for devices and systems (m/f/d) before the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK)
    • After 8 semesters: Writing of the bachelor thesis at Scheidt & Bachmann with the aim of obtaining the academic degree of "Bachelor of Engineering"

 

In the business administration degree programme, you will acquire specialised knowledge ranging from core business skills such as human resources, taxes, procurement, mathematics/statistics, accounting, business informatics and business law to foreign languages, communication techniques and business skills.

During the practical days, you will get to know various company departments and actively take on the tasks of an industrial clerk (m/f/d). You will gain extensive knowledge about planning, implementation and control in areas such as purchasing, logistics, human resources, sales or finance and accounting.  In addition, you can make important contacts throughout the company.

Features of your dual study programme:

  • Business Administration in cooperation with the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Business and Economics
  • Prerequisite: General university entrance qualification
  • Start in winter semester
  • Duration: 8 semesters
    • After 4 semesters: Final examination as industrial clerk (m/f/d) before the IHK (Chamber of Industry and Commerce)
    • After 8 semesters: Writing of the bachelor thesis at Scheidt & Bachmann and obtaining the academic degree "Bachelor of Arts"
  • During the lecture period:
    • 3 days / week practical training at Scheidt & Bachmann
    • 2 days / week of lectures at the university
  • During the lecture-free period
    • 5 days of practical training at Scheidt & Bachmann

Of course you do: On your first day at work, we will provide you with a mentor to answer your questions. This is usually a second-year trainee who knows exactly how you feel.
