The association "MG3.0_Masterplan Mönchengladbach e.V." was founded in December 2010. The declared aim of this association is to create a master plan to strengthen the urban development of the city of Mönchengladbach, to accompany this project and also to finance it. The major themes that this project is about are "A healthy economy", "A vibrant network", "A vital city" and "A lively community". 

Scheidt & Bachmann is aware of its responsibility towards its employees, but also towards the local economy in Mönchengladbach and is one of the numerous companies from Mönchengladbach and the surrounding area that support this project in order to change the urban situation in Mönchengladbach.

The LONG NIGHT OF INDUSTRY took place for the first time in the Rhine / Ruhr metropolitan region on October 20, 2011. The event was intended to show how modern and sustainable industry functions in the region. The citizens got the chance to experience industry and to look behind the scenes of exciting companies.

Scheidt & Bachmann, for example, also took part in this event and opened its doors to provide insights into production and the showrooms. The visitors had the opportunity to look around the showrooms and to get to know the products of Scheidt & Bachmann better. Afterwards, they were guided through the production halls, where they could see with which precision and variety work is done there.


Due to a cooperation agreement with the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences, apprentices of Scheidt & Bachmann will have the opportunity to study at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences parallel to their apprenticeship in the future. Through the dual study program, the promotion of young talent is to be continuously expanded and specialists and managers are to be recruited for the company. By combining study and training, we maintain close contact with our junior staff.

The cooperation agreement was signed on October 4, 2011 by the Chairman of the Management Board of Scheidt & Bachmann, Dr. Norbert Miller, the Scheidt & Bachmann Human Resources Manager, Frank Bender, the President of the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences, Prof. Dr. Hans-Henning von Grünberg, and the Vice Dean of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Prof. Dr. Thomas Meuser.


Since 1991, Scheidt & Bachmann has been cooperating with the University of Žilina, Slovakia. In 2007, a framework agreement was signed between the company and the university. It is the cornerstone for the "Scheidt & Bachmann AWARD".  The award is given to the students with the best diploma theses of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, the Faculty of Management and Computer Science and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.

Once a year, Scheidt & Bachmann organizes a technical excursion to the parent company in Mönchengladbach for the best students. Here, the young people get a first insight into the family business, and we have already been able to recruit some graduands this way.
