Scheidt & Bachmann is pleased to announce the start of a Germany-wide rollout of the ryd ecosystem as an additional mobile payment method at Esso fuel stations. After three years of successful use of the existing Esso app, ryd now complements the payment portfolio for customers. It is expected that from the end of December, customers throughout Germany will be able to pay at all Esso stations via the ryd app and in-car payment at the forecourt.
ryd was integrated as an additional mobile payment method via SIQMA Connect, thus expanding the customer base for mobile payment at Esso. ryd not only allows the use of conventional debit and credit cards, but also payments via PayPal, GooglePay, ApplePay or AmazonPay. In addition, ryd, as a leading provider of integrated in-car payment, is expanding its payment offering at Esso stations with customers being able to pay directly from the dashboard of the respective vehicle manufacturers such as Mercedes-Benz, Škoda and BMW.
As an additional option fuel station customers can easily pay directly at the pump instead of having to wait for the process to go through at the checkout. This simplifies the payment process and avoids queues at the checkout during peak times.
Another advantage of ryd is that it stores receipts digitally. Not only does this save money and protect the environment, but it also allows customers to have their receipts at their fingertips without having to keep physical copies.
The full integration of ryd into the SIQMA POS system also offers the possibility for a simple and transparent analysis of data related to mobile payments. This makes it possible to better understand the preferences and habits of customers to serve them even better.
